THE SULTANATE OF Oman

Oman is located on the southeast corner of the Arabian Peninsula. The country is rich in heritage and home to some of the most beautiful natural spots in the world and is often referred to as the jewel of the Middle East. Lush wadis and mysterious caves sit within rugged mountain ranges and the striking coastline boasts an abundance of beautiful beaches. Oman is the perfect destination for those who would like to see the ancient charm of Arabia whilst experiencing the natural beauty of the outdoors.

Our team has been exploring the Sultanate since 2013, with a plethora of activities from cultural tours of the historic Mutrah Souk to hiking to the highest peaks, kayaking or mountain biking, to abseiling and canyoning, Husaak has something to suit everyone’s adventure needs.

The Hajar Mountain range runs parallel to the coast and stretches 650 km from the tip of the Musandam peninsula to the most easternly post of Oman’s Ras Al Hadd. The Hajar Mountains are home to the jewels of Oman, including the highest peak of Jebal Shams which stands 3009 m above sea level. In the south is Dhofar, Oman’s largest governorate which sits 1000m above sea level. Between June and September, the South coast is washed with monsoon rains known as Khareef season. In an area of little rainfall, the fog brings the moisture necessary to transform the barren land of Salalah into a lush oasis; think emerald green hills, spectacular rainforests with tropical fruit and flowing waterfalls. In contrast to Salalah in the south, Wahiba Sands is home to some of the best dunes in the country where the endless sandy landscape offers a glimpse of the Bedouin existence.
