Journey into Oman’s largest cave network, within the heart of the Salmah Plateau, 165 km from Muscat. This is one of the most adventurous tours within the Husaak Portfolio, allowing you to adventure 400 feet under the surface, into one of the worlds largest chambers. Over 2 days you will descend the three big drops of the famous 7th Hole, exploring the caving system, and exiting from the other side through Tahery Cave.

THE ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrive in Muscat and check into your local hotel for a relaxing night after your international flight.
Day 2: Begin with a city tour of Muscat, exploring popular landmarks such as Sultan Qaboos Mosque, Oman’s iconic Opera House and Muttrah corniche and souk. Mutrah is Oman’s economic hub and traditional Arabic market bustling with vendors. Al Dhalam, the Souq with the nearby harbor is one of the oldest marketplaces in the Arab World, strategically located on the way to China and India.You can enjoy views of the corniche and take a short walk around to get a feel of this more traditional part of the city.
Enjoy lunch in a local café before driving 165 km South to reach the Salmah Plateau. Tonight, the group will camp on the the Plateau, 1900 m above sea level. This is wild mountain camping, work together to set up camp and prepare dinner before a caving theory session commences. The Plateau is one of the best stargazing spots in Oman, on a clear night you can be lucky enough to see the Milky-Way.
Day 3: Training day, Husaak’s experienced team will run ropes training sessions with practice abseils to ensure the group is ready for the next day’s adventure.
Day 4: Wake up early and gear up as we start our adventure inside this unique caving network. Depending on the group’s speed, it can take between 8-10 hours to reach the Tahery Cave entrance. Once we reach there, we will have dinner and sleep inside the mouth of the cave.
Day 5: Wake up around 6 AM, have a quick breakfast, then hike 5 km to reach the vehicles. The hike can take between 3-4 hours depending on the speed of the group. Once we reach the cars we will visit the iconic Wadi Tiwi, spend the next 2-3 hours swimming in wadi pools and relaxing before returning to Muscat by 6 pm. Check into your hotel and relax for the evening.
Day 6: Choose from a day of relaxation or book a fun day trip, options include kayaking at Bandar Khayran, a boat trip to Dayminyat Island or exploring the abandoned villages of Jebal Akdhar, the Green Mountain.
Day 7: Airport drop-off for your departure.
